This software application consists of process design tools required predominately by the automotive industry and that can also be very successfully used in other industries. This is aimed to ensure process quality and accuracy between Process documentation, flowcharts, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and Control plans (Quality Plans) and ensuring standardisation and the use of best practices within the organisation. In addition this application ensures that corrective action impact is properly applied. It allows however for different applications of processes where applicable. This process complies with AIAG FMEA guidelines revision 4 |
All processes within the organisation are defined as per process/ operation type and the process symbol added. FMEA’s are performed on the specific operation and preferred control methods defined. Provision is made for specific processes with different controls, the same failure mode can be applied pending on the organisations and customer expectations and selection criteria. Once a failure mode has been entered, data can be added for pre-launch and production controls methods. Here we decide our key process characteristics/ parameters An application is also available for prototype control plan |
New parts are added entering the details, selecting the predefined operations using a drop down menu and adding the process sequence. The processes selected are limited to the operations already defined. Dates for FMEA, Pre-launch, Control plan and review frequencies are entered. Next revision date is automatically calculated and coloured controlled. Provision is made for revision records when changes are applied. |
Only failure modes already identified can be selected using the drop down menu function. The control methods specified for pre-launch and production controls are automatically inserted as decided during the operations FMEA. Only the specification, sample size and control frequencies can be edited and the selection of customer significant characteristics and recommendations for improvements. This ensures standardisation and use of best practices, however, you can add separate controls if so desired. Enter your risk factors using the dropdown menus for severity, occurrence and detection. The prescribed risk definition as per FMEA revision 4 is used. High risk characteristics are automatically identified as per predefined selection criteria for the risk ratings. Error proofing control are also automatically identified when the appropriate detection criteria is selected. The organisation can establish and change the severity and RPN thresholds also to show your commitment towards continual improvement Changes applied to the master operations FMEA are automatically populated in part specific FMEA and controls |
Flow chart, FMEA and control plan can be printed and is interlinked and traceability between them assured. Using the master failure modes and controls specified in the operations FMEA ensures corrective action impact and the deployment of best practices. Control plans and flowcharts id all special characteristics/ high risk items and error proofing controls.

Pareto analysis is available showing all failure modes of concern not meeting the criteria defined indicating all the high risks and details and relative part numbers.
