The first step in any sustainable health and safety program is to have a systematic and repeatable approach for risk assessments.

The Health and Safety reliability software provides this systematic approach with predefined parameters to eliminate human inconsistency. This means analyse the risk the same way all the time thus being very conscious with improvements achieved.

In additional to risks assessment, risks management and legal compliance are two factors ensuring a workable and sustainable health and safety program. NEXES Health and Safety reliability analysis is a risk assessment tool, risk management tool, and ensuring legal compliance by facilitating your legal register and allowing application definition of your legal obligations of your health and safety risks.

It is a great tool for risk management and ideal to comply with OHSAS 18001 requirements and includes behavioural-based

Health and safety legal register are populated within the software,

·         legal reference

·         legal heading

·         application to the process/ hazard or activity

From this page a legal evaluation master form can be printed for internal compliance audits

All processes are recorded and registered, process owner selected, legal applications for the process selected using a dropdown menu.

When performing a risk assessment, you have to select the process and type of activity within the process, routine or not routine.

·         Define the risk and perform the risk assessment

·   Enter the current controls and any associated documentation (Hyperlinks is provided)

·         Record any opportunities for improvements

·      The legal requirements selected during process identification is automatically entered.

Records are kept off all risks assessments and graphically displayed to show trends.

The risk assessment consists of three evaluation factors:

  • Severity (What is the potential outcome) Both health and safety stress factors are considered

  • Probability (What is the likelihood it could occur) Human behaviour that could increase the likelihood of an incident are also considered

  • Mitigation (What has been done to prevent or detect the likelihood of an incident) Training, training effectiveness, physical containment and process controls are considered

All consideration has specific parameters and thus prevents human perception to influence the scoring system

The combination of the above gives a RPN (Risk priority number)

The organisation can establish the risk thresholds for severity and RPN. If any risk assessment scoring is above the parameters entered, it is classified as a high risk.

A Pareto analysis is available to prioritise risks; the analysis shows a graph and details of the risks classified as high

This software makes health and safety meetings and management review processes more effective as all relevant data and history is available for decision making, further more any decisions can immediately be entered into the recommendations for improvement section.

If an organisation are managing by exception attention only need to be given to the high risk and outstanding items. Pending and outstanding actions can be viewed separately ensuring time spend during regular meetings is kept to a minimum.

Reports for specific risk assessments can be printed:

·         giving the scoring history and graph

·         Current controls

·         Recommendations for improvement and status

Legal requirements for the activity and actions to comply
